Footballers lose 2-1 to St Vincent

TRINIDAD and Tobago football team suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to St Vincent and the Grenadines in a friendly encounter at the Arnos Vale Recreation ground yesterday. The local side paid the price for a series of second half misses after conceding two goals in the space of a minute in the opening 45 minutes past goalkeeper Ross Russell.   Kansas City Wizards striker Gary Glasgow pulled a goal back for T&T with a header from a right side cross in the 35th minute. Joe Public midfielder Kerwyn Jemmot and Glasgow were among those guilty of squandering chances for T&T. Coach Ian Porterfield had his eight-game unbeaten streak ended and didn't hold back his disappointment. "This is a very disappointing result for us. They got two goals in a minute and we didn't play well in the first 40 minutes. We just didn't click when we should have. To be fair we should have scored six or seven in the second half. "I am very upset but hopefully some good things will come out of this. I used these two past matches to assess some of the other players since we didn't have several of the regular guys. "Hopefully we'll learn from this below par performance," said Porterfield, who saw T&T draw 0-0 with Barbados last Thursday . T&T face Cuba in another friendly at the Hasely Crawford Stadium tomorrow followed by a clash with Jamaica on Saturday at the same venue.
