Trinidad and Tobago's Olympic Women's team kicked off their Beijing qualifying campaign with a convincing 9-0 whipping of St Vincent and the Grenadines at the at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadium in Paramaribo on Tuesday.

The T&T team was led by Avenell Isaac who struck four times while Tasha St Louis got a brace and Nikeisha Noel, Maria Shade and Niasha Reyes added others to make sure of the three points.

In the other encounter hosts Suriname thumped Grenada 6-1. T&T takes on Grenada in its second game on Thursday at the same venue.

The quadrangular concludes on Sunday with St. Vincent & The Grenadines facing Grenada and then Surinam greeting Trinidad & Tobago.

The winner of Group A will join the victors from the other three Caribbean Groups in the second round later this year with the top two teams progressing to the final round of 2008 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualification. (October 3, 2007.Photo shows Tasha St Louis)
