The BagoSports Beach Soccer Championship (BBSC) will be hosted at Turtle Beach, Tobago, from today until Sunday. This is the fourth instalment of the tournament, which will feature some of the top men’s teams.
Organisers have promised not only an action-packed tournament filled with high-quality beach football, but entertainment for the entire family.
The teams participating in this year’s tournament are Switzerland’s Baseland Chargers, England’s Solent Santos, the Guyana national beach soccer team, the Miami Soccer Locker, Team Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago’s national beach soccer team, Tobago’s Whim Sand Strikers and the Real Unity Sports Club.
The tournament organisers are eager for this instalment of the competition and are encouraging people to come out and support. Chairman of BagoSports Derek Dickinson said, “BagoSports is excited about this year’s event, mainly because the tournament has retained international teams.
It (the tournament) also continues to have new teams participating each year. We look forward to a great weekend. Our local teams will compete against top teams from Switzerland, England, USA and Guyana.”
BBSC is supported by the Tobago House of Assembly, Division of Tourism and Transportation, Welch Morris and Associates, Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago, National Lotteries Control Board, Bmobile, Ricoteck, RedBull, Mackeson, Tobago Waters, Dickinson Services and Supplies Ltd, Green’s Elite Graphics, Chanelle Investments, Migs Transport and the Beach Soccer Association Trinidad and Tobago.
This event is sanctioned by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association.
Teams will compete for a US$15,000 grand prize. Second- and third-placed teams will win US$3,000 and US$2,000, respectively.
