TRINIDAD and Tobago won another gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas, as the junior girls soccer team edged Jamaica in the final, yesterday.
T&T won the contest 5-4 to win this country’s third medal of the championships. It was a change of fortunes after Jamaica defeated the Chad Appoo-coached squad 5-2 in a preliminary match earlier in the competition.
T&T brought the game even by the end of the second period to 4-4. And in a battle of endurance, outlasted the Jamaicans for a 6-5 victory in the third and final period.
