Junior forward Mariah Shade (Los Bajos, Trinidad & Tobago) was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week, junior back Allie Fitzsimmons (West Springfield, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week, and three other Yellow Jackets earned a spot on the Honor Roll after leading the American International College women's soccer team to a pair of wins last week.

Shade scored three goals and assisted on another in the Yellow Jackets' 6-0 win over UMass Lowell, raising her scoring totals to five goals and one assist for 11 points. This came one week after she scored a pair of game-winning goals in double-overtime against then No. 1 Saint Rose and Merrimack. Shade has scored at least one goal in three of her last four games.
 
Fitzsimmons, who was also named the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, scored two goals and assisted on another while anchoring a defense that allowed just five total shots in two conference victories. She scored one goal in AIC's 4-0 win over Le Moyne and had one goal with one assist in the win over the River Hawks.
 
Junior forward Caroline Boyce (Canterbury, N.H.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll after scoring two goals, including the game-winner, against the Dolphins and assisting on one goal against UMass Lowell, while senior forward Sarah Tomlinson (Clitheroe, England) dished out three assists against Le Moyne and added a four helper against the River Hawks.
 
Sophomore keeper Samantha Tabak (North Haven, Conn.) needed to make just three total saves while recording her fifth and sixth shutout victories of the year, and has recorded six shutouts in her last seven games.
 
AIC will return to action Tuesday when it hosts a Northeast-10 contest against Assumption College at 7 p.m. at Ronald J. Abdow Field.

Meanwhile, The American International College women's soccer team moved up one spot to No. 15 in this week's edition of the National Soccer Association of America Coaches' Poll, it was announced by the NSCAA office.
 
The Yellow Jackets, who remained at No. 2 in the NSCAA East Region Rankings, were ranked 16th last week before recording a 4-0 win over Le Moyne and a 6-0 win over UMass Lowell. AIC has now recorded six shutouts in its last seven games.
 
AIC will return to action Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. Northeast-10 match against Assumption College.
