Christian CabralThe Argos men's soccer team defeated the Georgia Southwestern State University Hurricanes 2-1 Monday afternoon in Americus, Ga. After a scoreless first half the Argos offense got on the board when Paul Willoughby (Huntsville, Ala./Grissom HS) and Christian Cabral (Trinidad and Tobago/St. Anthony's College) added their first goals of the season.

With 32:43 left to play in the second half, Willoughby dribbled the ball up towards the front of the GSW box and unloaded for his first goal of his young career. Ten short minutes later in the 63rd minute of the match, Cabral scored the eventual game winner on a similar play in front of the GSW box.

After a solid defensive performance for the majority of the game, the Argos would allow the hurricanes to score and pull within one with three minutes remaining. A Michael Moses pass past Argonaut defenders allowed Jamie Kiep to find the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

West Florida out shot the Hurricanes 18-3 and only allowed two shots on goal for the fourth straight game.

The Argos return home this Friday at 7:30pm to face Rollins College in a South Region matchup.
