Sophomore midfielder Matt D'Amico (Germantown, MD/Northwest) scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to help lead Shepherd University to a 5-2 win over Seton Hill in WVIAC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Thursday afternoon.

D'Amico scored at the 11:05 mark on an assist from junior midfielder forward Michael Sprague (Front Royal, VA/Warren County/Lord Fairfax CC) to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.

Brady Sanders scored an unassisted goal at the 31:30 mark for the Griffins to tie the game at 1-1.

Shepherd took a a 2-1 lead into the break when junior defender Jeff Sandusky (Brookeville, MD/Sherwood) scored on a penalty kick at the 43:45 mark.

D'Amico, junior midfielder Patrick Norfolk (Olney, MD/Sherwood), and junior forward Gregory Khan (Mt. Pleasant, Tobago/Bertille St. Clair) added second half goals for the Rams, while Mike Pistentis had an unassisted tally for Seton Hill.

Senior goalkeeper Wagner Dacosta (Santos, Brazil/IASP) had five saves for the Rams, while Seton Hill netminder John DeLuca recorded three saves.

Shepherd improves to 2-2-0, 2-1-0 in conference play, while Seton Hill drops to 4-3-0, 2-1-0. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 2 p.m. conference matchup.
