The University of New Haven men's soccer team grabbed a 4-2 victory Saturday afternoon over the visiting American International College Yellow Jackets. The Chargers improve to 3-7-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
At the half the Chargers held on to their 2-0 lead and held a slight 6-5 lead in shots. UNH goalkeeper Jonathan Creem grabbed one save in the opening half, while the AIC goalkeeper tallied two stops.
The Chargers continued to open their lead with another two goals before the Yellow Jackets could ever get on the board. In the 53rd minute Corridon scored the second goal of his career off a through ball from Christian Sanchez. The Chargers scored again in the 75th minute when Jelani Joslyn scored his second goal of the season from just outside the 18-yard box, right in the center of the field.
The Yellow Jackets added goals in the 76th and 90th minutes to break the UNH shutout.
The Chargers out-shot AIC 13-11 in the game, but trailed 6-2 in corner kick attempts. Creem earned his first career victory and seven different UNH players attempted shots.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, October 8 at 4 p.m. when they travel to Syracuse to take on LeMoyne College.
