Rhode Island sophomore Dwayne Williams scored his third goal of the season propelling the Rams to a 3-2 overtime win over Duquesne on Friday.
After a scoreless first half, Rhody got on the board first thanks to a goal by freshman Erkko Puranen (Visitasaari, Finland) in the 61st minute.
The Rams would later take a 2-0 lead thanks to senior Kedan Crosby's (St. James, Trinidad) second goal of the year. Crosby's goal came in the 75th minute.
URI appeared to have the game in hand with a two-goal lead with just under six and a half minutes remaining in the game, but in the 84th minute, Duquesne's Stefan Lundberg got the Dukes on the board, cutting the Rams' advantage in half (2-1).
Five minutes later, Duquesne tied the game at two goals apiece thanks to Greg Annan's goal in the 89th minute, which sent the game into overtime.
In the overtime period, Williams netted the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute.
With the victory, Rhode Island improves to 6-4-1 (2-0-0 Atlantic 10) while Duquesne drops to 5-5-3 (1-2-0 Atlantic 10).
The Rams are back in action on Sunday, when they travel to St. Bonaventure for a 1:00 p.m. match.
