Stefan St. LouisJunior Stefan St. Louis scored a pair of goals, and senior keeper Steve Clark made two second-half saves to notch his eighth shutout of the season and fourth since opening Summit League play, as the Oakland University men's soccer team (10-4, 4-1 Summit League) cruised to a 3-0 victory over IUPUI on Saturday. The shutout victory gives OU four shutout victories in five Summit League contests.

"Our defense was solid today," said head coach Gary Parsons. "We have done a good job the last couple of games of keeping the other team from getting behind us, but more importantly today we were able to put our scoring chances in the back of the net. It makes the game so much easier when you've got your forward scoring goals. We finished well today."

The Golden Grizzlies broke through in the 11th minute as OU took advantage of a long throw-in, as St. Louis took the feed from junior Stew Givens, beating IUPUI keeper Tyler Keever on a breakaway with a shot just inside the right post. With OU holding onto a 1-0 lead, junior Sebastian Harris fed senior Gabe Hernandez, who took a straightaway shot from 30 yards out to give the Golden Grizzlies a 2-0 lead in the 18th minute.

OU carried its 2-0 lead into the half not allowing a single Jaguar shot on goal.

St. Louis capped scoring for OU during the 65th minute, scoring an unassisted goal on a hard shot from right to left, and OU held onto its 3-0 lead down the stretch to seal the victory.

IUPUI held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks, but the Golden Grizzlies held a 16-8 advantage in shots, including a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. Sophomore Makesi Lewis led OU with six shots.

The Golden Grizzlies will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 28, concluding a three-match road swing with a non-conference contest against Detroit Mercy in Detroit. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
