Facing off against its first of two Big East squads on the road, the Boston University men's soccer team rallied from an early goal deficit to defeat Seton Hall, 3-1, on Friday night at Owen T. Carroll Field. With the score tied in the 60th minute, senior captain and 2009 first-team all-America East honoree Aaron O'Neal recorded a goal for the third straight game to help the Terriers remain undefeated at 3-0-1, while the Pirates dropped to 0-2-1.

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, redshirt freshman Brandon Briggs posted five saves, while Sean Carr recorded the same amount for Seton Hall. Both squads also finished the game tied in both shot attempts (15) and corner kicks (9).

Starting the year with a 2-2 tie against No. 3 Wake Forest and 4-1 loss to No. 4 North Carolina, the Pirates got on the board first at 13:38 when Brayan Martinez scored from 25 yards out off a free kick. The Terriers responded 14 minutes later when junior forward Stephen Knox received a pass from classmate Ben Berube on the left side and dribbled in to score from three yards out.

Seton Hall had two more attempts in the half but could not connect, as the two teams entered the locker room tied at one goal apiece. BU came out attacking with four shots in the first 10 minutes of the second stanza and finally took the lead on O'Neal's fourth goal of the season at 59:59.

Senior midfielder Ryan Shea posted his first assist and point since 2008 on the game winner, and freshman midfielder Anthony Ciccone tallied his first career goal at 64:24 on the left side after receiving a pass from senior midfielder Ben Havey for the insurance score.

Following the 3-1 victory, the Terriers will next take a short drive to No. 15 St. John's for a Sunday night showdown at 8 p.m. Last year, BU earned a 1-0 shutout victory against the Red Storm at Nickerson Field to even the series at three games apiece.
