Senior forward Shastri Spencer scored his fourth goal of the season in the first half to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 2-0 win at West Chester in PSAC men’s soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

Spencer’s goal, assisted by freshman midfielder Andrew Cerda, put the Warriors ahead 1-0 with nine minutes left in the first half. ESU took a 2-0 lead on an own goal by West Chester eight minutes into the second half.

Senior goalkeeper Troy Hernandez had four saves, all after halftime, for his fourth shutout of the season as the Warriors improved to 6-1 (2-1 PSAC). ESU had a 10-9 edge in shots, while the Golden Rams held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Peter Weiss started in goal and had four saves for West Chester (2-4, 0-3), and Garrett Bleiler played the final 12:30 and made one save.

ESU hosts Millersville on Saturday in the middle game of a tripleheader at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Warriors welcome West Chester for their PSAC East football opener at 1 p.m., followed by a soccer doubleheader against Millersville beginning at 5:30 p.m.
