Junior forward Greg Schook deflected in a cross from senior forward Shastri Spencer for the game-winning goal with 3:06 left in the second overtime to give East Stroudsburg University a 3-2 win over PSAC men’s soccer rival Millersville on Saturday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Spencer had a hand in all three ESU goals, scoring the first goal and adding two assists, to help the Warriors improve to 7-1 (3-1 PSAC) and end a six-game losing streak to the Marauders (4-2-1, 2-2). He has five goals and four assists to lead ESU’s 19-goal attack this season.

Millersville struck first on Shane Seabrook’s goal in the 13th minute before Spencer leveled the score in the 25th minute with a 35-yard strike from the right wing.

Redshirt senior midfielder Michael Kane assisted on Spencer’s goal, then gave the Warriors the lead with his third goal of the season in the 76th minute as Spencer took the ball to the end line, then cut it back for Kane to finish in front of the net.

It looked like the goal would stand up as the game-winner until late in regulation, when Andrew Dukes headed in a cross by Pat Baffuto with 3:33 showing on the clock to the tie game at 2-2.

Millersville had a couple of chances in overtime and forced two saves by ESU senior goalkeeper Troy Hernandez before Spencer created the final scoring opportunity of the game, driving a cross into the box from the left touchline with Schook finishing for his third goal of the year.

Hernandez made seven saves in 106:54 and has played all 737 minutes in goal this season for the Warriors. Matt Langione had three saves for Millersville, with ESU holding a 19-16 advantage in shots and 9-6 edge in shots on target.

ESU will put its 7-1 record and 3-1 conference mark on the line on Wednesday with a trip to Mercyhurst, which is undefeated at 6-0-1 and 1-0-1 in the PSAC.
