The #1-ranked Colorado School of Mines soccer team posted a 10-0 victory over Adams State College in RMAC men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at the CSM Soccer Stadium.

CSM established three new single-game team records in the win. The 10 goals were the most in a game in program history the previous record was nine goals which had been achieved three times. It also marked the largest margin of victory a Mines team has ever had in a match which was previously a nine goal margin set back in 2005 against Johnson & Wales. The final record broken was for assists in a match Mines had nine in the win and broke the previous record which was six against Regis in 2001.

Mines scored just one minute and 23 seconds into the match on a Baski Baker blast from the top of the box. Two minutes and 12 seconds later Tesho Akindele scored on the assist by Alex Nass. Mines added a goal in the fifth minute again by Akindele assisted by Chike Sullivan. The assist was Sullivan's ninth of the season.

The Orediggers would strike again this time not until the 29th minute as Akindele completed the hat trick and Alex Gunberg tallied the assist.

Gunberg got in on the scoring action in the 40th minute when Nass played a through ball to the feet of Gunberg in the box on the right side. The assist was Nass' fourth of the 2010 campaign.

Baker added a second goal in the 49th minute. Philip Wilson sent a cross in from the left side finding Baker open on the back post giving Wilson his sixth assist of the season.

Sullivan added a goal, his seventh of the year, in the 50th minute. Gunberg sent a ball over the top to Sullivan who beat the ASC goalkeeper high. The assist was Gunberg's eighth of the year.

Seun Ogunmodede added his second goal of the year on a long ball from nearly 60 yards away played behind the defense by Ari Vrohidis for his first career assist in the 65th minute.

Brandon Sawada scored his first career goal off a corner kick in the 73rd minute as Cale Haas and Cory Wittwer tallied assists. The final goal of the game was scored by Nic Amedo as he converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute.

Akindele finished the game with his third consecutive hat trick and 10 goals and one assist in three games this week. Akindele has 15 goals this season which currently leads the RMAC.

The #1-ranked Orediggers (13-0-1, 10-0-1 RMAC) will play at #11 Metro State on Friday, Oct. 22nd at 3:30 pm. Mines will host #16 Regis University on Senior Day, Sunday, Oct. 24th at 1:30 pm.
