The Park University men’s soccer team won its eighth straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating Williams Baptist College, 3-0, and improved to 10-3-1 on the year and 5-0-1 in the conference.

Williams Baptist falls to 4-8-1 overall and 0-4 in the AMC. Park has now shutout three straight opponents and hasn’t lost a game since Sep. 15.

The Pirates dominated the contest from the start, as Ramone Palmer put the Pirates on the board first in the 15th minute with a goal past the Eagles keeper Hector Sosa.

Park took 22 shots, to WBC’s nine and freshman goalkeeper Reece Harris saved all five shots that came his way.

Harris is now 10-2-1 in goal this season and has not given up a goal in four games. The Park defense has given up just two goals in the entire month of October.

Jair Gooden knocked in his sixth goal of the season in the 72nd minute and teammate Matthew Ashman collected the assist on the goal.

Kiel Williams had three shots on the day and one on goal and teammate Dawit Gebremariam had two shots on the day.

Leading the way for the Eagles, Jorge Mojica had three shots and two on goal and fellow Eagle Daniel Silva fired two shots on goal.

Park will take a week off and take on Columbia College next Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2:00 p.m.

Park will celebrate senior day that day as well, as the Pirates honor six special seniors including Simon Senfuka, Michael Arrum, Kiefer Mergen, Gaetano Simonella, Caesar Mulonzi and Yusuf Nsereko.
