The LSU Shreveport men's soccer team dominated the Steers from Texas College on Thursday afternoon at the Swamp by a final score of 4-1. The Pilots have now won five games in a row.

LSUS (7-4, 5-1 RRAC) got on the board early with a goal from Leonardo Reyes, his seventh goal of the season and fourth consecutive game with a goal, at the sixth minute with Nick Montz getting the credit for his first assist of the year.

LSUS' Marcos Carrillo scored his second goal of the season at the 29th minute as Larry Edwards got his first assist of the year on the play to give the Pilots 2-0 cushion in the first half.

Texas College (5-5-2, 4-3 RRAC) got back in the game with a goal three minutes later to close the gap as Esteban Aguinaga scored on a header with Edgar Monroy getting the assist to trim the Pilot's lead to 2-1. The game would stay there until the second half.

Leading by one goal, LSUS' Samuel Portales ripped a goal-scoring shot to extend the lead back to two, 3-1. Portales now has three goals on the season all of which have come in the three of the last four games.

The Pilots would not be through yet as Steven Bush scored at the 64th minute with an assist from Charles Tweve (2). Bush has now scored a goal in the past two games.

Rogerio Celaya and Lance Quini combined in goal for the Pilots as Celaya played the first half while Quini made two saves in the second half of play.

"This is a huge win for us. We are playing well right now. The guys have responded well and they are focused at what they need to do," said LSUS head coach Krasi Kolarov.

The next game for the Pilots will be this Saturday versus Bacone College (7-8, 4-3 RRAC) at 3 p.m. at the Swamp. LSUS invites all youth CABOSA (Caddo-Bossier Soccer Association) soccer players out for Saturday's game for Youth Day. All fans will attend the game free of charge. Bacone lost to Northwood 4-1 on Thursday.
