The UAlbany men's soccer has now won four straight matches after winning on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2-0, vs. Central Connecticut State in the Binghamton Classic. Junior forward Quintel Gates, senior midfielders David Pinto, Anthony DeSalvo and senior goalkeeper Adrian Foncette were named to the All-Tournament team. DeSalvo was also named as the tournament's MVP with two goals. The last time the Great Danes won four straight was back in the 2008 season, when they did it twice to tally a 12-4-2 record and receive the number two seed in the America East tournament.

After a scoreless first half, UAlbany (4-2) quickly recorded a goal in the 53rd minute with Brandon Wilson's first goal of the season contributed by quick passes from teammate's freshman midfield Pomare Te Anau and junior forward Quintel Gates to grab the lead 1-0.

In the 88th minute DeSalvo was able to seal the Great Danes fourth win of the season with a tip in right in front of the net from a pass by teammate Gates. "Today was our most complete performance of the season. Everyone worked hard for the cause. Adrian made some big saves, we defended well, and created good goals", said head coach Trevor Gorman on today's win. "Winning breeds confidence and we've done well to build on each win so far. Our goal moving forward remains the same: to improve as a team with each and every game".

The first half was even across the board with Central Connecticut State (3-3) and UAlbany shots tied at seven a piece. CCSU goalkeeper Anthony Occhialini batted away three of the five shots on net from the Great Danes. UAlbany goalkeeper Adrian Foncette was able to record his ninth shutout of his career with four saves on the match.

The Great Danes look to continue their success on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Towson at 4 pm in Tiger Soccer Complex.
