St Francois stun T&TECScarborough Secondary became the first Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) team to progress in the FA Trophy competition when they turned back fellow Tobago contenders 1976 Phoenix 3-1 yesterday at Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, Tobago.

Scarborough came from behind with two goals from midfielder Christopher Morgan in the 31st and 74th minutes, while Mekeil Gordon struck for the schoolboys in the 46th. Phoenix had previously taken the lead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute.

T&TEC's two teams in the competition, their Pro League and Southern Football Association (SFA) squads, both lost, to Northern Football Association (NFA) club St Francois Nationals at Queen's Park Savannah and Clint Marcelle Coaching School at Palo Seco, respectively.

Defence Force, the 2011 T&T Pro League champs, overcame last week's scare against St Anthony's College to blast Mafeking United 11-0 at Mafeking Recreation Ground.
