Super League club Malabar Football Club will strive to become the first lower division team in the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) FA Trophy final for seven years, when they face Pro League Central FC next Wednesday in the opening match of a semi-final double-header at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.

Malabar remain the last lower division team in the FA competition after edging NFA team Queen’s Park 2-1 in the quarter-final round.
A non-professional team have not reached the final since 2006 when Super League club WASA won on penalties over North East Stars, following an exciting 3-3 stalemate. East Zone Carib also reached the 2001 final, where they lost 1-0 to Joe Public.
