Four-time winners and defending champions DirecTV W Connection will come up against 2006 winner WASA FC in the round of 32 main draw of the T&T Football Federation FA Trophy competition at WASA Ground, St Joseph on February 22.
This was determined when the draw was made at the local federation’s head off at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on Monday.
Also the reigning Digicel T&T Pro League champions, W Connection, FA winners in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2013-2014 booked its place in the main draw after eking out a 1-0 preliminary round over Super League outfit Real Maracas.
The goal came in the 89th minute strike from Colombian midfielder Christian Rodriguez at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva while WASA was on a bye.
Fellow Pro League clubs, Caledonia AIA, San Juan Jabloteh, Pt Fortin Civic, North East Stars, Central FC and six-time champions Defence Force all got favourable draws.
Caledonia, winners in 2008 and 2011/2012 entertains Prisons; three-time champions San Juan Jabloteh (1998, 2005 & 2010/2011) travels to Biche United; Pt Fortin Civic is at home to Petrotrin Palo Seco; 2003 title-holders North East Stars go to Enterprise Life Sport; reigning two-time runner-up Central FC faces Rio Claro United and Defence Force, tournament kings in 1974, 1981, 1985, 1989, 1991 and 1996, and coming off a 7-1 mauling of Queen’s Park in the preliminary stage battles its Super League team-mates.
St Ann’s Rangers, other Pro League club involved face a tricky away clash to Super League’s Guaya United at Guaya High School Ground.
Also in the mix is joint record winner Maple, seven-time winners with Malvern.
Maple, winners of the Northern Football Association hosts SKHY FC at Dibe Recreation Ground, Long Circular, St James.
