eBayThe Chinapoo United Police Youth Club was formed in 1994 out of the need to engage the young people in Chinapoo Village, Morvant, in positive and meaningful activities that would contribute to character building. From its inception, the Club has used sports, specifically football and cricket, to reach the youth of the Morvant. Through dedicated leadership from a group of young adults in the area and with the assistance of officers of the Morvant Police Station, the members of this club have set themselves apart as a beacon of hope in the hopelessness that pervades in Morvant as a result of crime.

The Chinapoo United Police Youth Club through its various sports teams have competed throughout Trinidad & Tobago, and its football teams have had the opportunity to win several national Republic Bank Youth Cups. Members of the club have gone on to play football at several US Colleges and the T&T Pro League.

In addition to the sporting aspect of the club, the group has always been involved in several community improvement projects. With the assistance of money raised from its annual Sports Day, the club has continually provided food hampers and school supplies to needy families in the area, and more recently, has partnered with the Ministry of Social Development to undertake the renovation of one of the buildings at the St. Mary’s Children’s Home in Tacarigua. The children of the home will receive basic training in a number of technical skills including masonry, plumbing, carpentry, painting and tile-laying. Through sport activities, the young people of Chinapoo would also have the opportunity to interact with the children of the Home.

Your involvement in this Warrior Nation auction will go a long way in assisting the Chinapoo United Police Youth Club in their sporting activities for the young people of the area, and in providing sport gear for the children of the St. Mary’s Children’s Home.
