The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association will host a FIFA Training Compensation and Solidarity Contribution Workshop on Saturday June 11th for local and regional clubs.
The workshop will take place in Trinidad at a venue to be confirmed on June 11th and will also happen in Tobago during that week at a venue and date to be finalized.
The workshop will be conducted by Messrs Georg Froese and Jan Schwele. It is mandatory for all Pro League and Super League clubs and is also opened to other local clubs. Invitations have also gone out to member associations in the Caribbean Football Union.
The costs is $1,000 per person and each club is allowed two participants. The deadline for submission of entry is June 1st. Interested persons can contact the TTFA at 623 9500 for more information.
The TTFA believes that local clubs can benefit by being educated on the process and it is hoped that there will be a strong turn out at the workshop.
The term “solidarity payments” is commonly used to describe distinct regimes for the distribution of money within the football community, including:
- Sums payable to clubs involved in a player’s training, upon a player registering for the first time as a professional player, or upon the international transfer of a player before the end of the season of his 23rd birthday, calculated by reference to a specified formula; and,
- Sums payable to clubs involved in a player’s training and education, upon the international transfer of a player (prior to the expiry of his employment contract), calculated by reference to the amount of the transfer compensation.
