Clint Marcelle has rocked Barnsley by announcing that he will walk out on them at the end of the season, possibly to play in Europe.
The little striker booked his place in Barnsley history by scoring the goal which clinched their first-ever promotion to the top flight.
But he has refused to accept new terms from manager Danny Wilson and will quit Oakwell when his current agreement runs out in the summer. The 29-year-old, a close friend of West Indies Test cricketer Brian Lara and Trinidad international strike partner Dwight Yorke, explained: "I only like to stay at a club for a year or so. I go in, do the business, then move on.
"I will leave on a free at the end of the season, and I don't think I will have any trouble finding another club, either in England or abroad."
