Pavel Srnicek is facing the chop as Kevin Keegan sharpens the axe for Sunday's showdown with champions Manchester United.
The Newcastle boss is ready to make changes after being alarmed by the defensive clangers that gifted Ferencvaros a 3-2 UEFA Cup win.
Goalkeeper Srnicek is top of the hit list after blundering for the seventh- minute goal that got the Hungarians off to a flyer. "That opening goal was down to Pav. It was an error by him - no doubt about it," said Keegan.
"He hesitated coming for the ball when he should have stuck his head in, if need be, to make sure he got there first."
That looks like costing Czech international Srnicek his place against United and handing Shaka Hislop another chance.
