Midfielder hoping for an immediate response...

Notts County need to put Tuesday night’s result behind them quickly, says Andre Boucaud.

Sheffield United dumped the Magpies out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with a 4-1 triumph at Meadow Lane.

Boucaud and his teammates were disappointed not to make it into Round Three but the midfielder feels that they can make amends for the result by claiming maximum points at the weekend, when they travel to the Ricoh Arena to take on Coventry City.

“I thought we didn’t start the game very well, we went a bit too direct and we don’t usually play that way," he said.

“Going in 2-0 down was a low blow for us but, at the end of the day, the league is the most important thing to us.

“Come Saturday we’ve got to and get three points.”

He added: “We’ve got to pull our sleeves up and graft just like we did when we went to Carlisle and won 4-0 and I’m sure we can do that.

“At the end of the day but I feel that if we get a win on Saturday this will be put to bed.”
