Brent Sancho is expected to renew old ties with current National Assistant coach Theo De Jong who was one of his coaches during his playing days in Finland with Tevarit FC.
Sancho revealed this on learning of the appointment of the Dutch as an assistant to Leo Beenhakker last week.
“It was sort of a surprise but in football you can never count anything out. That experience was a while ago with him in Finland and now I’m likely to work under him once selected. He’s an experienced coach who has a strong passion for success and I’m pretty certain he is a good addition to the staff,” Sancho said.
De Jong added: “Yes I remember Brent when I coached in Finland and hopefully we will have a chance to reunite again.”
Sancho is currently nursing an ankle strain and missed Dundee’s 2-1 loss to Dundee United last weekend and may be rested again this weekend but is expected to be fit again within the next week.
