Trinidad and Tobago Senior Team defender Seon Power has signed a one-year contract with Thailand Premier League club Chainat FC.
Power, who was adjudged as T&T’s outstanding player for his efforts at the heart of the T&T defence at the 2012 Caribbean Cup Finals in Antigua, has been on trial at Chainat since December prior to signing his deal on Tuesday. He now joins fellow T&T player Kendall Jagdeosingh at Chainat.
“I’m delighted to have finally signed a deal with Chainat. It’s a one year contract with the option for another six months,” Power told TTFF Media on Friday.
“The club has been great to me since I’ve been here. I’ve played in a few unofficial games for them and I’ve been training everyday with the first team. My first official game is on March 3,” added the former North East Stars and Joe Public player.
Power, who turned 29 on February 2 is particularly relieved to have put pen to paper ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July..
“I couldn’t return home for the Peru game but I’m glad that the deal is through now so I can focus on playing here and I should be able to rejoin the team for upcoming matches once the coaches include me in the squad,” he added.
Power joins other international players on the Chainat roster including former Welsh youth international Michael Byrne, Singapore’s Valery Hiek, Florent Obama of Cameroon, Jo Tae-Keun of Japan and Montenegrin striker Bojan Bozovic.
