Kenwyne Jones vs NorwichIf Stoke City preserve their Premier League status, a replacement for striker Kenwyne Jones should be top of Tony Pulis' summer transfer wishlist.

Jones has struggled to have any impact for the Potters this season - managing just three goals and two assists. His major flaw is his reluctance to hold onto balls and keep possession, which has left Stoke exposed to counter attacks.

Stoke have struggled to create goal-scoring chances this season, with the majority of their openings coming from throw-ins and long balls. Despite his aerial advantage, Jones has been very poor and has failed to benefit from Stoke's style of play.

Pulis' tactics require a clinical striker who is good in the air, versatile and decisive. Unfortunately, Jones is by no means close to any of those qualities.

Here's a look at two possible candidates to replace the former Southampton & Sunderland man, whose exit seems somewhat inevitable this summer, irrespective of the division the Potters find themselves in come the start of the 2013/14 season.

Grant Holt | Norwich City

Holt has been the key figure behind Norwich's success in the Premier League for the past two seasons. His muscular physique has made him one of the most feared strikers in the division.

Although he's struggled to replicate the form of his debut season in England's top flight, Holt is not to be taken lightly and could prove to be an effective signing for Stoke.

Shane Long | West Brom

Long was the catalyst behind West Brom's impressive run of results in the first half of the season. Despite his apparent lack of height, Long is a dominant figure in the air and has proven so on a regular basis.

Whilst he may not be the most physically strong player and not an obvious candidate to replace someone of Jones' ilk, his versatility, pace and power mean the ex-Reading star would fit seamlessly into Stoke's style of play.
