Barnsley Football Club is delighted to announce that striker Jason Scotland has penned a new deal at Oakwell.
The 34-year-old has signed a 12-month contract which will commence from July 1st, 2013.
After joining the Reds on a free transfer in late January, the striker went on to bag his first of six Tykes goals just over a minute into his début – the second in a 2-0 win over Millwall.
Reds Manager David Flitcroft told barnsleyfc.co.uk, “Jason has enthusiasm, energy and desire. He is a fantastic person who wants to help support the younger players in the squad and pass on his superb knowledge about the game.
“Everyone who watches Jason knows about his goal-scoring abilities, but it is also the other side of him that really excites me because this is a player who has tremendous experience, knowhow and drive that will benefit everyone.
"It's great to have Jason signed and I am hopeful we can follow this up with others in the coming weeks."
