NOTTS County's glamour cup tie at Liverpool will mean nothing if they lose their next two games in League One, says Andre Boucaud.
The Magpies will face the Premier League giants at Anfield live on TV in the second round of the Capital One Cup in just 12 days.
And while their fans are getting really excited about it, midfielder Boucaud says all of the players are fully focused on their league games against Walsall and Stevenage.
Those two games are really important because Notts have lost their first two league games.
"These league games are way more important than the Liverpool game," said Boucaud.
"It will mean nothing if we lose them before we come up against Liverpool."
It will be the first time Notts have faced the Reds since 1992.
"As footballers you always want to play at the biggest clubs and against the best players and the ones that get picked for it will have an opportunity to do that," added Boucaud.
And while he hopes to walk out against the five-time European Cup winners, Boucaud insists the tie will not give the players extra motivation to play well against the Saddlers and Stevenage.
"It shouldn't just be 'I've got to put this performance in because we've got Liverpool'," he said.
"If that's the mentality we will have then we won't progress.
"We have to have the mentality to play well in every game."
After helping Trinidad & Tobago reach the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in America this summer, Boucaud started the Magpies' opening league game at Sheffield United, but was dropped to the subs' bench against his old club Peterborough United.
He insists he's not at risk of burnout after his efforts for his country and is eager to quickly force his way back into the team.
"I'm feeling good," he said.
"I had to go and play in the Gold Cup because it is such a massive tournament and it was a great opportunity for me.
"I'll keep training hard and hopefully get picked."
