Carlos Edwards says he’d relish the chance of extending his stay at Portman Road for another year.
The Town skipper is out of contract in the summer and has not spoken to Mick McCarthy about his future yet but would welcome the opportunity to remain a Blue.
“My contract is up at the end of the season and at the moment, I don’t know what will happen for next year,” said Carlos, speaking in his column in Saturday’s matchday programme.
“I haven’t spoken to the gaffer about it yet. The most important thing is that we carry on picking up points and stay in the Play-Off places.
“I’m sure he will talk to me when he feels the time is right. It’s his decision but of course, I’d love to stay here. If I was offered the chance to stay another year here, I’d love it.
“I’ve really enjoyed my career at Ipswich. It’s a great club with a lot of good people here.
“I feel fit and my legs don’t feel any different to previous years so I certainly want to play on for at least another year, maybe longer.”
