Jason Scotland expects stick off Dundee fans because of his days with their rivals United, but hopes to be smiling with Accies on Saturday.

The former Trinidad and Tobago international striker hopes it’s third time lucky for Hamilton in their bid to regain top spot in the SPFL Championship, and anticipates a tough match at Dens Park.

He said: “I have some good memories of playing at Dundee and I’ll probably get some stick from playing at Dundee United, but it’s something that I’m always happy to take on the chin, and I love those challenges.

“Hopefully we’ll get the better of them and I’ll enjoy it if we do.”

Jason (34) heads to Tayside with a clear mission in mind after making his debut in a 4-3 defeat against Cowdenbeath, and scoring in Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Dumbarton.

He said: “I was pleased to have scored my first goal but in the main I was really disappointed. Having scored with three minutes left you would think that was the winning goal, so to concede in the last minute was disappointing.

“One of the guys said Alloa had drawn with Dundee and it was the same story as last week – the gaffer said that if we had got three points we would have gone top of the league.

“Hopefully it will be third time lucky – it’s in our own hands.”
