Andre Boucaud has been named the new captain of Dagenham while fellow midfielder Matt Richards has joined the club on a one-year contract.
The much-travelled 30-year-old Boucaud joined the club last July following an impressive stint on trial after leaving the Daggers' League Two rivals Notts County.
He went on to make 43 appearances in all competitions last term and has now been appointed the new skipper by boss Wayne Burnett.
Boucaud replaces Abu Ogogo, who left in the close season to join Shrewsbury.
Meanwhile Richards, 30, has signed for the club after impressing on trial during pre-season following his release from Cheltenham.
