Cornell Glen will remain back in India and will not travel to China as Mohun Bagan face Shanong Luneng Taishan in Jinan on Tuesday in the 2nd Preliminary Qualification round of the 2016 AFC Asian Champions League.
The 35 year old Trinidadian was not issued a Chinese visa in lieu of the fact that his documents still stated that he was still a Shillong Lajong player even after signing for reigning I-League champions Mohun Bagan in the off-season. While the Green and Maroon brigade flew out to China late on Saturday night, Glen has since travelled to Guwahati to sort out his paperwork.
"Yes, it is true that Glen could not travel to China and he is in Guwahati as he is looking to correct his documents with Lajong officials. It is nothing too serious and we are not that worried or concerned that Glen is missing out on the ACL match", a Mohun Bagan official revealed to Goal.
There was confusion regarding Luciano Sobrosa as well being a victim of a visa issue but the official also confirmed the Brazilian has boarded the flight and reached Jinan safely. Glen on the other hand will return to Kolkata on the 2nd to take part in Bagan's next I-League match, co-incidentally against Shillong Lajong on 6th at the Barasat Stadium.
