It wasn’t pretty but it was a case of job done for Clyde as far as Marvin Andrews was concerned.
And the experienced defender said the aesthetics of the football aren’t important, but more wins like the 1-0 over Arbroath is just what the Bully Wee need at this stage of season.
Andrews said: “At this stage of the season it’s all about getting points. The more points you get, the better chance you get of putting yourself in a good position.
“It’s all about winning games, it’s not about pretty football and playing nice.
“That’s what we came here to do and obviously we fulfilled that purpose.
“I know for the fans it’s not good on the eye, but for us it’s all about three points.
“I think it was a brilliant day for up here, normally it’s 100 mile an hour winds and you can’t get out of your own half from a goal kick but the sun was shining.”
Andrews admitted that while Clyde do have games in hand, they can only focus on the next fixture.
He continued: “We came here with a gameplan, we know it’s a tough place to come and we were fortunate with the own goal, but we held on and took the win.
“We’ve got a few games in hand we know but we only take one game at a time, so we look forward to Tuesday night now.
“It’s definitely an odd league.
“We had a good run in October then loads of games have been off, then we hit a tough patch but to get three wins in the space of a week is great to set us up on a good platform.
“We’ve got a good squad of players in there who are ready for the challenge.”
