THIRTEEN goals in five matches has landed Kennya “Ya Ya” Cordner, the Trinidad and Tobago international and FC Dallas Women’s striker on top the goal-scorer chart in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) --the second tier of women’s soccer in the United States.
Cordner is not just the WPSL leading scorer in the USA, but has scored half her team goals for the season as well. In 2017, Dallas Women boast an overall record of 14 wins, one loss and three draws and finished the SouthWest-North Conference in second spot, two points behind Oklahoma City FC.
“Looking back through this season when you have scored 27 goals and only given up four goals on the season you have to be pleased with the production. We are continuing to progress collectively as a group and hoping that we are peaking at the right time,” stated head coach, Ben Waldrum.
