Supporters may not have seen the last of striker Stern John in a Derby County shirt.
John has not figured in the first team for five weeks and will return to Coventry City when his three-month loan period expires on December 17.
His last appearance came in the home defeat by Queens Park Rangers at the end of October and he did not even travel to Stoke and Brighton.
But manager Phil Brown says John could still figure if he pushes himself forward.
“I've had a long chat with Stern this week,” said Brown. “He knows full well what I expect of him between now and December 17 and if we get it, we might see him in a Derby shirt again.
“We've got two other loan strikers in Dexter Blackstock and Danny Graham and Stern must be thinking he has no chance of getting in the team.
“To be fair to Stern he has been out on the training ground every day and is thinking positively.
“If we need to call on him, we will but, as we stand, Dexter is doing a good job and we are expecting big things from Danny.
“Paul Peschisolido will be the same as Stern in thinking ˜how am I going to get a chance?'. The only way is to push yourself forward like Pesch did against Notts County.”
