Real Salt Lake has signed DF Alvin Jones ahead of the 2020 season.  The Trinidad and Tobago right back brings international experience and one year in the USL Championship to bolster the depth on RSL’s back line.

“We’re happy to add a player of Alvin’s caliber to help make the team better.  He’s good on the ball and has good attributes in the attacking third.  He’s athletic.  He’s strong,” RSL Head Coach Freddy Juarez said.  He’s a national team player and we hope that experience can make us a better team overall.”

Jones, 25, spent the 2019 season with OKC Energy FC in the USL Championship, where he had one goal and two assists in 21 matches after signing in mid-April.  Previously, he had played with W Connection in Trinidad, winning two league titles in six seasons and making six appearances in CONCACAF Champions League.

In addition, he has 19 caps for the Trinidad and Tobago National Team, scoring one goal against the U.S. National Team against the U.S. National Team on October 10, 2017 in 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

Real Salt Lake finished the 2019 season third in the Western Conference at 16-13-5 (53 points) and advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals for the second consecutive season.
