Defender Ian Cox gives his views on Gillingham's disappointing defeat at the hands of Bournemouth on Saturday.

Speaking at the post match press conference Cox confessed that the side failed to keep up the pressure after going a goal up. He said: "When we had scored our goal we seemed to take the foot off the pedal a bit.

"Overall we would have been happy with a point as we created a lot of chances in the first half but we didn't take them and that's a little disappointing.

"We have to be more clinical and snuff out the chances in our own box, while finishing in theirs.

"Up until they scored we were comfortable but they grew in confidence.

"I enjoyed the game, it's always a battle when playing against big Fletch (Steve Fletcher) and I think we can be optimistic now."

On the club's away form Cox added: "You look at all the other clubs in the division and they've won away from home.

"It's a big concern because obviously something's not right and we'll just have to keep plodding on.

"Our home form is not too bad but our away form is a prime concern. We need to just keep picking up the points."
