Dundee’s World Cup bound goalkeeper Kelvin Jack has no idea whether he’ll still be at Dens Park come next month.

The Dark Blues are willing to offload senior players during the transfer window and Jack is one of their bigger earners.

The Trinidad and Tobago internationalist admits he could be on his way, if a suitable bid is forthcoming, but is relaxed about the situation.

“My contract runs until the end of the season but who knows that the future holds?” he said.

“There has been a bit of interest but I can’t say more than that at the moment.

“I’ve never asked to leave but I know what football is like—if an offer comes in, the club will look at it.

“If I can go somewhere to a bigger club—or what’s perceived as a better club—then that would interest me. In that sense I’m no different to any other player.

“The one thing I can say with certainty is that I’ll continue to give everything for Dundee for as long as I’m here.”

Jack is currently sidelined with a knee complaint but expects to be ready to resume playing before long.

“The strength test I had in Glasgow last week was encouraging and I should be back quite soon,” he said.

“I don’t really like setting timescales because I’m quite superstitious and don’t want to bring myself bad luck, but I’m feeling good.

“If I am staying here beyond the end of the month I expect to be given another chance.

“Young Scott has done really well but I was in top form before my injury and I think I’m good enough to get the jersey back.

“I need to be playing before the World Cup. We play Iceland at Loftus Road on February 28 and we are looking forward to that.”

Meanwhile, Dens boss Alan Kernaghan has returned from England no closer to further strengthening his squad.

Kernaghan took in two reserve games down south but none of the players he was there to watch impressed.

“The lads concerned didn’t do as well as I’d hoped and I don’t think anything will develop with them,” he said.

“I still hope to add to the staff but I am not desperate.

“If a player comes along that we like the look of then we are in a position to do something about it. But, if not, it isn’t a major concern.”
