ANDRE Boucaud could start his first Posh match since the opening day of the season agianst Cheltenham on Saturday, February 4.
The midfielder is in line to replace suspended star Peter Gain against Cheltenham at London Road.
If new boss Steve Bleasdale sticks to the system that delivered success at high-flying Grimsby last weekend, Boucaud's only rival for the role of midfield creator is Shane Huke.
Boucaud (21) has not started a Posh game since the opening day defeat at home to Chester. He spent three months of the season on loan at Aldershot.
Bleasdale said: "Andre has looked good in training and if he can persuade me he has the discipline for the role then he will start against Cheltenham."
Winger David Farrell is available again following a groin strain, but goalkeeper Mark Tyler is struggling with a rib injury so Lee Harrison is on stand-by for his first League Two appearance since October.
Captain Dean Holden believes Posh should aim for automatic promotion rather than the play-offs.
Holden said: "If we beat Cheltenham tomorrow it puts a bit of daylight between them and us and if we can string three or four wins together we could be very close to the top three."

Posh: (from) Harrison, Bolland, St Ledger, Arber, Holden, Day, Carden, Boucaud, Newton, Logan, Crow, Quinn, Farrell, Huke, Plummer, Semple, Kennedy.
