Speedy striker Cornell Glen made a good first impression for MLS side Colorado Rapids in a 6-0 win over Mexico’s Pachuca ‘B’ team on the weekend. Glen is currently in Mexico with the club on preseason training and is hoping to fit in well with his new team after making the switch from Columbus Crew earlier this year.
“So far I have been working hard and fitting in with the rest of the teams but there’s still a lot of hard work to be done. Everyone’s fighting for a starting spot and I need to endure that I can produce the goods,” Glen said on Tuesday.
He will be hoping to come good again when Rapids faces Pachuca’s first team on Monday before going to Miami for another training camp. Following that, Glen will then jet off with his new club for a two-week training camp in Spain.
Meanwhile, English Premiership club Bolton Wanderers has expressed interest in national midfielder Silvio Spann. The former Vibe CT 105 W Connection is currently without a contract after spending the last season with Yokohama FC and has been receiving offers from clubs in Scotland and England. Scottish side Dundee United has reportedly made an offer to him as well and there is interest from Birmingham City. Wanderers’ boss Sam Allardyce is said to be keen on having a further look at Spann and possibly getting him over to the former club of new T&T call up Ricky Shakes.
