According to a close source. it was revealed that Kansas City Wizards has sent home Anthony Noreiga after the player failed to make the final cut.
Wizards coach Bob Gansler has seen enough and has taken action not to sign the player as a first team member. All was not bad for the player though, Noreiga was offered a small contract by the Wizards to join their Developmental Team, but Noreiga turned down the offer in search of first team football and possibly more money.
Portland Timbers and Vancouver of the A-League have both shown interest in the former Starworld Strikers defender and more than likely Noreiga will be heading over to those clubs to pursue his professional career.
T&T striker Scott Sealy and the entire Wizards squad will be on board for season opener, but the Wizards could be hit hard by national team call-ups for the World Cup. Defender Jimmy Conrad, midfielder Kerry Zavagnin and forwards Josh Wolff and Johnson could all be on the U.S. squad. And forward Scott Sealy could be called into the Trinidad & Tobago squad. Most of the Wizards' 28-man roster could be called upon to keep the club successful during the season. Any player called for national team duty could miss as many as 10, perhaps 11, games.
