New goalkeeper Shaka Hislop will back up starter Dario Sala this weekend, then get his first FC Dallas test during next week's U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal.

Hislop arrived here and began training last week but did not travel for the team's weekend trip to Houston. Manager Colin Clarke said Hislop, 37, was still getting his family settled and adjusting from the mild London summer to the oppressive Dallas summer.

But Clarke said Hislop will be in Los Angeles for Sunday's MLS match and will start in Wednesday's Open Cup contest at Houston.

Managers commonly rotate in second goalkeepers for matches in concurrent competitions. Hislop's most recent contest was during the World Cup for Trinidad and Tobago.
