George Burley has revealed putting an encouraging arm around Kenwyne Jones is paying dividends.
The Trinidad & Tobago striker's dramatic double in Wednesday's remarkable victory against Birmingham took his tally for the season to five Championship goals and six in all competitions.
It's a far cry from last season where he managed just four league goals - five in total - in 38 appearances over the entire campaign.
Burley has long since been preaching Jones' potential - even though many fans remain unconvinced that he is the man to partner Grzegorz Rasiak every week.
Even Burley himself admits "sometimes people maybe don't appreciate the quality he's got."
The manager's faith and belief in the 22-year-old Jones is starting to pay off.
Burley said: "Encouragement for most people is the way to do it.
"At times you've got to pull them and say that's not quite happening'.
"But I'd rather encourage and work with players on the training ground and fulfil their potential."
