CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and World Cup midfielder Aurtis Whitley is expected to sign a one year deal with Vietnamese Club Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) and would leave Trinidad on Wednesday for Vietnam.

Coach Terry Fenwick of the San Juan based team told ‘ttproleague.com’, “We have been working on this contract for some time now and things are now in place for Whitley to travel to Vietnam. Hoang Anh Gia Lai has offered him a one year contract with the option of renewing.”

“So, he has a contract awaiting him and will spend a few days in Vietnam to see whether or not he fancies the conditions before signing,” said Fenwick.

According to the Pro League Coach, the arrangement between Jabloteh and the Vietnamese Club (HAGL) is a financially enormous one, but he is not at liberty to reveal its contents.

He also added, “This is a great move for Whitley, (HAGL) has a very big UK partner in the world of football. They have teamed up with Premiership Club, Arsenal,” said the former England player.

The partnership will see Arsenal and HAGL share training resources and establish Arsenal's presence in South-East Asia.

Whitley would be accompanied on his Vietnamese trip by newly appointed Team Administrator of San Juan Jabloteh, Wesley Webb a former Jabloteh and W Connection player.

On Webb’s appointment Fenwick said, “Wesley is the man for the job. He is not just a good administrator but has also done well as a player hence my reason for appointing him as team administrator.”

“He would travel with Whitley to Vietnam and make sure everything goes well for the player,” ended the Jabloteh coach.
