yorke30Roy Keane has revealed that Dwight Yorke is once again considering international retirement in the wake of the club versus country row that he found himself embroiled in earlier this month.
Yorke’s decision to play for the Trinidad & Tobago in their World Cup qualifier against Guatemala provoked the ire of his club manager, and his subsequent comments about not being allowed to play against the United States prompted the intervention of Fifa vice-president Jack Warner.

Keane issued a dressing down to Yorke this week and has seen a positive reaction from his veteran midfielder. “The situation has been resolved and I think he’s thinking these things over,” he said.

“I suppose he took it on board. There are no problems with him, he’s done very well since I came to the club but it’s a big challenge for him this year. The decision is his – it’s always the player’s call. That’s the reason I was so annoyed last week, because my players always go away for international matches with my blessing.”
