On loan defender Dennis Lawrence could return to the Crewe Alexandra starting line-up after serving a well-earned rest. The towering centre-half did not feature in last weekend's FA Cup win over Ebbsfleet United after his parent club Swansea City did not grant us permission to play him. Lawrence, 34, was also given a rest for our trip to Huddersfield after playing four games in eleven days and also representing his country Trinidad and Tobago in a couple of World Cup qualifiers.
Steve told the club's official web-site: "Dennis needed a rest because he had been asked to play a lot of games in a short space of time and that included going half way around the world to play for Trinidad as well.
"All the games and travelling just caught up with him a bit and he needed to come out. We wanted him available for us last weekend but that wasn't too be, so I'm sure a fortnight's break would have done him good.
"It is great to have back and available for us. We will have to decide what we are going to do at the back, because Sam Parkin has always been a threat at this level and in the Championship when we came up against him a few times."
