SUPER-CONFIDENT Andre Boucaud believes he can lead Posh out of relegation bother after a sensational scoring return on Saturday.
And he made an immediate impact with an expertly-taken individual goal during the 4-0 demolition of injury-ravaged Port Vale at London Road.
Boucaud said: "The day really couldn't have gone any better.
"It was great to return with a goal and even better that the team collected three very important points.
"It was a victory we desperately needed and it proves we are capable of getting the results to pull clear of the relegation zone.
"I know Port Vale were missing a few of their regulars but I think the size of the scoreline was more down to a good Posh performance.
"Hopefully my own display will have been enough to convince Barry Fry that I should stay in the team, but you never quite know what will happen with Barry incharge!
"And hopefully we will be able to build on this result and string a few wins together to climb up the table."
Boucaud capped a fine all-round performance with Posh's third goal when he delivered a perfectly-placed low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards after spotting Port Vale keeper Jonny Brain poorly positioned.
He added: "I picked up the ball in midfield and the Port Vale players seemed to back away from me.
"I could see their goalkeeper wasn't in a great position so I went for a shot and luckily the ball ended up in the back of the net."
Posh rose one place to 21st in League One. They are a point behind both Torquay and Barnsley and are in possession of a superior goal difference.
