MARVIN Andrews could be set for a sensational return to the Raith Rovers team.

The 33-year-old defender, who has been out of the game for a year after knee surgery, has been training with the club and is nearing a return to full fitness.

John McGlynn confirmed that Andrews could come into his plans soon, and SportsPress sources suggest he may even play at Bayview on Saturday.

"Marvin is keen to get back playing because he wants to win his 100th cap for Trinidad and Tobago," McGlynn said.

"Our physios have worked with Marvin to get him back to fitness and he's been training at Stark's Park for months.

"He's had a hamstring injury recently and that's held him back, but he will decide when he's ready to play.

"He still has a lot to offer, maybe even at a higher level.

"He's a big influence, and awesome in the air, so to have him back would be massive.

"But the key thing is getting him back to his peak. He hasn't played in a year.

"We don't have a reserve team to gain him match fitness so the only way would be to play him, if the occasion was right."
